The Energy Component ranged between USD 0.95/MWh and USD 127.51/MWh. With a steady but gradual upward trend in demand, prices are exhibiting a wider spread and increased volatility. Weekly fluctuations in renewable generation have led to price spikes, particularly on Tuesdays and Fridays across regions. Nonetheless, renewables increased their share of total generation over thermal sources last week, driven by rising fuel costs.

The MXN/USD exchange rate closed the week at 20.4 MXN/USD, decreasing marginally by 0.49%
Henry Hub natural gas benchmark closed the week at an average of USD 4.27/MMBtu, increasing by 9.82%. The heating demand increased in North America and Europe due to colder weather conditions. Due to higher-than-average withdrawals, inventories in the U.S. and Europe are running low, raising concerns about supply shortages. With stockpiles below normal levels, replenishing them may take longer, especially if winter conditions continue or production remains limited. Output has been constrained due to freeze-offs in key production regions, intensifying worries about supply shortages.
WTI, Brent, and MME crude oil benchmarks prices were -3.6%, -3.2%, and -3.1% from the previous week, respectively, closing at USD 67.52/bbl., USD 71.93/bbl., and USD 63.8/bbl. Oil prices have declined after a sharp rise on last Friday, ending the week with losses. This reversal is due to OPEC's decision to increase production starting in April, uncertainty over U.S. tariffs, and a bearish increase in U.S. crude stocks. According to UBS analyst Giovanni Staunovo, "There is a bit of a concern in the market that the OPEC+ decision is the start of a series of more monthly supply additions, but the statement from OPEC+ reiterates an approach in bringing back barrels only if the market can absorb them,".
